Tumblr Pilipinas V-Day Meetup Year II : Part I
Okay, so I have to exhale and inhale few times before typing this entry. This will be a very very long post. I actually don’t know how to begin. Last Saturday was just really a blast and I can’t still move on. Alright, so I have to divide this into three sub-parts. Here we go! Here’s the first part!
How the hell did we do this meetup?
So right after the meetup a lot of people are already asking me to organize another one next month, especially those who wasn’t able to come. But my usual response is just a smile or “yeah! sure!” but organizing this kind of meetups is not as easy as 1, 2 and 3. It takes a lot of effort, patience, commitment and insert all of the noble kemes (words) in here.
We’ve just come-up with this meetup by a simple question of mine in the Tumblr Pilipinas group whether they’re up to a mini meetup this coming Feb. Well. A lot of people got excited by the idea. Well, since last year, we did the same thing, I told to myself that why don’t I make a year II version of the said meetup. Here are the photos of the Year I.
So around 2nd or 3rd week of January, I decided to make a tentative event keme in Facebook. The venue was chosen according to a survey. The original plan was a mini meetup so I said when the rsvp reaches 50+ sure attendees then let’s do it! Then after a week, the rsvps hit the 3 digit number, It was already a hundred or so! Well of course, you can’t tell to the rest of the 50 guys and gals not to go since that will be very rude!
As weeks progress, I realized that this is not already going according to my first plan of a “mini meetup” concept. So I already decided to submit a formal letter of sponsorship to the Trinoma mall/Ayala Mall management to allow us to use the venue. It was nerve rackin’ since it was just approved last Thursday! It was one of those last to the minute thing I did to make this meetup as smooth as possible. I was so nervous that they might say yes or no or what not but thanks the keme that it was approved.

So the Tumblr Pilipinas Directors and Administrators would like to thank the Trinoma Mall/Ayala Management for being so accommodating! Horay!
Another thing is that two companies showed their interest and support in sponsoring this meetup by giving way some premium items and freebies.

Solar Entertainment (the company that owns 2nd Avenue, ETC and Jack TV | They also distribute some of the biggest Hollywood films here in the country) gave us the “Safe House” movie shirts and some “Hugo” movie premiere night tickets!
“Safe House” staring Ryan Reynolds is now still showing on theaters nationwide! Meanwhile, “Hugo” will be premiered here in the Philippine right after the Valentine’s day! Don’t forget to watch it!
I’ll be watching the premiere night today of “Hugo” and I’ll post my review about it! As well as the review for “Safe House”, click here to see my previous post about it.

On the other hand, Garage Magazine gave us free copies of their November to December issue featuring Mario Maruer! We gave these copies to the most fashionable people in the meetup! Grab their January to February issue featuring Elmo Magalona and Sam Conception!
It is a regret that Mister Donuts, KFC, Crystal Clear, Crocs and other brands wasn’t able to sponsor due to some time constraint. But some of them already committed to support us next time!
Be ready for the part II! Haha.
