A judge ordered a man to take his wife to dinner instead of having to make bail!
Judge Joseph Hurley is getting attention for a ruling he recently made in a case of domestic abuse. What happened was that a wife called her husband out for not wishing her a Happy Birthday. At some point, they began to argue. He put his hand on her neck and raised his fist but did not hit her.
That landed the man in jail. When the judge heard the case, and asked the woman if she felt threatened, she said no. So the judge came up with an interesting solution. He ordered the man buy a birthday card, and flowers. He also had to take her out to dinner at Red Lobster and for bowling afterwards. This was to be his penalty, instead of paying a bail.
The judge also asked them to go into marriage counseling as soon as possible so that they can fix their issues.
